In 1998, Ryan Elliott, an automotive entrepreneur, recognized a major problem that used car dealers and car rental agencies were having: After paying significant amounts of money to have a car detailed, the vehicle was test driven and within a week, all the benefits of the detailing had diminished. Mr. Elliott developed a series of proprietary processes and services that not only made a car look and smell fresh but maintained that factory-new experience until the car was sold. The business quickly evolved into the successful and unique franchise that it is today. Between 1998 and 2003, AutoQual grew from a local Colorado-based company to a nationally recognized franchise with locations in 23 states across the country.
